2003-2004 Jessica Doughty
The winner of the 2004 NOBC Scholarship is Jessica Doughty, Mustang Pony #118, the granddaughter of Mustang Gerald Leonard, L660.
Jessica attends Clarkston College in Omaha with a major in nursing. Jessica has done extensive volunteer work in the health care industry as she has felt she wanted to be a nurse since she was a girl. Her mother’s death from cancer reinforced this calling as she saw her mother cared for so well in the hospital by caring nursing staff.
She has won the Zeta Tau Alpha Scholastic Achievement Award in 2002-2003, the Distinguished DECA Member Award in 1999, and was president of both the junior DECA class and senior DECA class in 1999 and 2000. She has been employed at the Outback Restaurant and was the Employee of the Year in 2002.
She helped to organize the Race for the Cure and Kick Out Cancer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation for four years and has an extensive list of volunteer organizations on her resume.
We are delighted to award Jessica this scholarship and add her to our fine list of Mustang Pony college attendees.
